Dr. Nirmalya Bagchi is the Dean and Head, College Park Campus (CPC), Director for PGDM, Professor and Director Centre for Management Studies at Administrative Staff College of India. He has been with ASCI since September 2006, promoted to Professor in November 2012. Previously, he was a Lecturer at Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management, Calcutta.

At ASCI, Dr. Bagchi has led projects sponsored by DST, Gates Foundation, DRDO, European Commission, UNICEF, RBI, NPA (MHA), Ministry of Steel, Ministry of Skill Development, DSIR, DEITy, Commonwealth Secretariat, DBT, DoPT, TIFAC, ICFRE, CIPS, FMC, and INAE.


Findings from his study “Study to Identify Policy Measures for New Science, Technology and Innovation Policy, 2013”, sponsored by DST, were used in developing India’s Science, Technology and Innovation Policy 2013.

Dr. Bagchi has authored books, book chapters, and academic papers. His current research interests include innovation and its management, R&D management, economics of R&D and innovation, and strategic management of technology.

He has also received specialized training from ISI Calcutta (Statistical Methods), UNAPCICT (E-Governance), and UNICEF (Executive Evaluation).
